RimuHosting.com requires someone to perform customer tech support work.
The work includes assisting customers with their servers – installing applications, and troubleshooting problems; setting up new orders; and answering sales queries.
The work is part-time. We are looking for one or more people to work for one or two hours a day sometime between 0700UTC and 1700UTC. (See http://timeanddate.com/worldclock/meeting.html for what that would be in your local time). The hourly rate will be between $US7 and $US14/hr.
The work can be done from home/remotely.
We are looking to fill these positions starting September and it would be an ongoing role.
We are looking for:
* Someone with a passion for Linux. You will likely have have been using Linux for a long time; you will have run Linux on your home PC; you will be able to debate the merits of various Linux distros, you'll know why qmail is evil (or not); you will be happy compiling applications from source and installing PHP- or Python-based web applications; you’ll have worked with a variety of software like Sendmail, postfix, zope, apache, and procmail; and very likely you'll be a customer of ours already (though that's not a prerequisite).
* Someone who likes a challenge and enjoys helping others. You may help friends with their computers or perhaps you post regularly in forums and mailing lists assisting others with problems.
* And someone who wants to gain IT experience working for a company that considers awesome support is the holy grail of hosting.
Inquiries for this position can be directed to me via email (p.jobs _at_ rimuhosting.com) in the first instance. Tell us a little about yourself (include a resume if you like), and why you think you are a good fit for the job.
