cron-ing apt-get update/upgrade

Just wondering if it's a sane idea to cron apt-get update and apt-get upgrade on a daily basis.

I'm assuming the apt packages landing into rimu's repository won't break things totally out of shape. :)

I can't imagine a 'catastrophic' consequence of doing this. Once the RHEL4 repository had some 'bad' db4 rpms in it for about 24 hours until I fixed them. That would have caused certain issues. But nothing that a little manual intervention would not resolve. i.e. if you are doing automatic updates just be alert to any oddities and if you can't resolve them let our support crew know and we can typically fix it for you.
