Hi!
I am looking for a backup mail server and a secondary DNS. There are a number of free DNS services. It is possible to find a backup mail server for 16 to 30 $US/year. Some providers also offer these services as an add-on or free addition to the hosting service. A good example could be JVDS (http://www.jvds.com/linuxpackages.php).
Should we expect in the foreseen future this kind of services available for RimuHosting VPS customers?

Hi Misha, you could try zoneedit they are very good at http://zoneedit.com/ or no-ip at http://www.no-ip.com/
Some others are;-
http://www.backupdns.com
http://www.Sitelutions.com/
http://www.dnsexit.com/Direct.sv?cmd=backupMx
http://www.dyndns.org
You could also search on Google - http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=backup+mx+dns&ie=ISO-8859-1&hl=en&meta=
What I have done is have another VPS with Rimu and that is used, amongst other things, for secondary email mx and dns servers.
Hope that helps.
kind regards,
Arthur

Hi Misha. We are working on towards providing a DNS service. Coding has started. And we will work to roll it out as soon as possible.
BackupMX is also a good idea. And it's sitting with its hand up on our todo list.
If anyone else is interested in these services, do let us know any particular requirements you have. Or features you're looking for.

I'm definitely interested in getting those functions from Rimu.
Right now I'm using no-ip.com for backup MX (saved me many, many times) for $35-$40/year USD. I use GoDaddy to manage all my DNS {including an easy-to-use subdomain/url redirect setup}.
I'd want historical stats on how much mail my backup server got. for dns, I would want all the same services that GoDaddy offers with their "Total DNS Control".
