I was thinking of signing up today, but I'm deciding on whether I should go with RHEL or Fedora -- what are the pros and cons on setting up either one?

On the forums I read that a lot of things are preinstalled on RHEL, like php, mysql, java, tomcat, webadmin panel. What about Fedora? Is most of the needed software preinstalled, or will it be pretty empty?

How about rpms -- how easy is it to find RPMs for RHEL, as opposed to Fedora?

Are you guys consider supporting Suse?

Any help would be appreciated...

Thanks,
Vladimir

You can read more about the distro options we offer at http://rimuhosting.com/distros.jsp

RHEL and FC offer similar packages. Both can be accessed via apt (to automate dependancy installation).

RHEL has a longer support life than FC. So bank on needing a major upgrade/reinstall less often with RHEL. Package versions are typically a bit newer on FC than RHEL. But unless you need the very latest Apache 2.2 this usually isn't an issue (as PHP 5.1 and MySQL 5 are available for RHEL4).

We don't have plans for suse at the moment. If it is requested enough we would likely do so.
