I have a Rimuhosting Xen instance running Debian Sarge, which I'm interested in upgrading to Debian Etch.
- Is this supported?
- Has anyone tried and have tips to share?
- Anything out of the ordinary necessary (with Rimuhosting control panel, etc.) outside of the "typical" Debian upgrade (http://wiki.debian.org/Sarge2EtchUpgrade) steps?
Thanks!

Several days without an answer on the forum - I submitted a support ticket (http://rimuhosting.com/ticket/startticket.jsp) and got a reply within minutes. Here's what support told me:
If you're familiar with upgrading 'real' machines, then you should have
no problem doing it here. :) You'll follow the same steps as you would
on any regular server actually.
We've had many customers perform the upgrade and, for the most part,
they have gone off without a hitch. (there were a few issues when Etch
was first released).

Guess we don't need to say that we are not monitoring the forums as closely as the support inbox. I try to check in here, when we are not too busy.
Generally speaking, for Sarge to Etch upgrades, they go smoothly, unless you've installed a lot of non-Debian packaged software. If that's the case Debian usually treats this pretty well, and will not overwrite anything.
I can't recommend the Debian Reference manual enough, section 2.3 covers upgrades. If your going to be working with Debian, keep this link close at hand:
