It is a quiet month for news. Blame it on the NZ summer and me taking a couple of weeks off at the beach. The remainder of the support crew here did an admirable job helping customers in my absense. I probably needn't have connected the phone and DSL at the bach. But then how could I have kept up with the latest slashdottings?

January kept us busy with new orders and support. And setting up new servers. We are also doing ground work for a new service we are working on. It will probably be launched under a separate domain from RimuHosting. But it will be something that RimuHosting customers should get a good benefit from. More details on it when we have something more concrete to show for our time.

Tsunami Recovery Fund

The tsunami that hit countries around the Indian ocean last month left behind wake of devastation. The people affected will need a lot of help to rebuild their homes, lives and businesses. At the start of January we pledged an amount for each new order to the tsunami recovery efforts. And we are happy to report that we just sent $500 to the (NZ) Red Cross to help in the tsunami recovery efforts. Thank you to those customers that supported this campaign by referring friends that needed Linux hosting to us.

'WP-OBJEXCEL LTD' on Your Credit Card Statement

Our credit card processor has been using our company name as a billing reference on our credit card transactions. Rest assured the transaction is for your RimuHosting service fees. We are working with the credit card company so they will use the more recognized name 'RimuHosting' in the billing description on future transactions.

Referral Credits

Do you have a friend or colleague that may need Linux server hosting? Please tell them about RimuHosting or put one of our 'hosted by RimuHosting' buttons on your web site. Referrals help us become a stronger hosting company, able to offer better service. Also, we pay a $15 hosting credit for everyone that signs up and mentions your name as the referral source.
