Summary: All IP addresses assigned to VPSs on host 27 will be changing. You will need to update your DNS A records before the end of this month.
Detail:
The data center housing host27 has dropped one of its bandwidth providers - used on this host server - in favor of Level(3) and Time-Warner Telecom. These two bandwidth providers are used on all our other servers at this data center. And we have been happy with the performance and reliability of these connections.
With the new network provider, however, comes new IP addresses for VPSs on host27.
We have already setup each VPS's networking so that it will respond on both the old and new IP addresses. The old IP addresses will continue to work until the end of the month (February). Possibly longer if there is a need for it.
You will need to update your DNS to refer to the new IP address in order for things to work after the end of the month.
Those customers using rimuhosting's name servers should note we now have a "Change IP" function which will work across all IP Address (A) records/zones.
In most cases, this is all that needs to be done. However, some customers may have explicitly coded IP addresses into config files (e.g. in httpd.conf). You can see if this is the case by running:
find /etc | xargs grep 66.17.243.
The following commands should replace the IP addresses automatically:
find /etc | xargs grep -l 66.17.243. | xargs -i{} replace 66.17.243.oldval 206.123.113.newval -- {}
